Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are very thin shells of ceramic that go over the front of the teeth; they are custom made and colour matched to the natural tooth. This option is most suited to those who wish to have a quick cosmetic fix for their discoloured, worn or crooked teeth, or those who simply want a natural looking result.

Porcelain veneers on average need two visits to be complete. On the first visit, our dentist will remove an eggshell thin layer of tooth enamel to make space for veneer. Then, an impression of your teeth will be taken and sent to the lab where they are hand-made to perfectly fit your teeth. You will receive temporary veneers for interim use. Around two weeks after the first visit, your porcelain veneers will be bonded to your teeth.

After this process is complete, the veneers are for the most part unnoticeable, and you will have the perfect natural smile you are looking for, and are even unlikely to stain from coffee, tea, and even cigarettes. Porcelain veneers are unmatched when it comes to providing you with a cosmetically healthy-looking tooth!

Composite Resin Veneers

This type of veneer is made of matching white filling material bonded to the tooth.

Advantages:

Cheaper than the porcelain veneer alternative
Even though composite resin veneers are weaker than porcelain veneers, they are quick and easy to repair
These veneers can sometimes be done in a single visit
Other procedures such as porcelain veneers do not compete with composite resin veneers in terms of tooth enamel as composite resin veneers typically have less enamel on the tooth that must be cleaned.
Composite veneers do not need as much tooth reduction as porcelain veneers or crowns, and are sometimes even possible to do without any tooth reduction
